Continue with a leisurely private long-tail boat journey along the Mekong River towards Pak Ou.
Along the way, stop at local communities including Muang Kham and Ban Xang Hai, a village known for the traditional production of Lao rice whisky.
Continue to the famous Pak Ou Caves and explore Tham Ting Cave, where numerous Buddha images have been placed by worshippers and pilgrims over generations.
Cross the Mekong to Ban Pak Ou before beginning the return journey to Luang Prabang.
On the way back, visit Xang Khong and Xienglek villages, known for traditional weaving and handmade paper.
In the late afternoon, climb Phousi Hill for panoramic views across Luang Prabang, the Mekong River and Nam Khan River around sunset.
